From November 22 to 26, student of the educational program “International Economics” Roman Popov visited Azerbaijan at the invitation of ADA University. Roman won the all-Ukrainian essay competition among students “Ukrainian-Azerbaijani diplomatic relations”, which was held by ADA University. In addition to a diploma and valuable gifts, he received an invitation to visit Baku. As part of the delegation from Ukraine, along with Roman went the curator of the essay competition, representative in Ukraine of the state institution “Baku International Center for Multiculturalism” Marina Goncharuk and student of KNUKIM Daria Ponomarenko. During the visit, the students completed the Leading the Change training program on relations between Azerbaijan and the EU. Among the speakers of the program were Peter Mikhalko – His Excellency the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan; Ulje Purga – expert from Estonia; Chrtomir Peter Fischinger – Counselor of the Department of Politics, Economics, Press and Information in the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan; Nargiz Ismayilova – Director of the Center for Excellence in EU Studies (CEEUS), ADA University; Anar Veliev – Dean of ADA University, School of Public and International Relations. Roman, together with the delegation, visited the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan, where he had a warm meeting with the First Secretary of the Embassy Dmitry Berezhny and the third secretary Alexander Dorofeev, who told a lot of interesting information about Azerbaijan and the peculiarities of the work of Ukrainian diplomats in Baku. Roman shared his impressions of Azerbaijan with the journalists of the Azerbaijani media. In particular, journalists of the state TV channel AzTV and TV channel SVS. “I am grateful to ADA University and Vice-Rector Mr. Fariz Ismayilzade for the unique opportunity to visit Azerbaijan and get acquainted with the educational process at the leading university in Azerbaijan. I was amazed at the beauty of Baku, the hospitality and friendliness of Azerbaijanis and the warmth with which they treat Ukraine. I hope to continue to successfully participate in such competitions and programs,” said Roman Popov.
