On September 2015, 9th the inaugural meeting of students of second course “Establishing the foundation of spatial data infrastructure: ensuring base in the Ukrainian Government to support sustainable economic growth” Canadian curriculum “IPA-education in Ukraine” took place in NTUU “KPI”. This project is supported by three parties: Vancouver Island University, the World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development of NTUU “KPI” and Taras Shevchenko National University. The beneficiaries of the project are: the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. Spatial Data Infrastructure is an important national resource. Consolidated data from many sources are used to analyze, planning and ensuring of sustainable ecological and socio-economic development. The set of integrated tools for gathering, storing, processing, and delivering of spatial data for academic and administrative purposes (Geomatics) is important instruments of national security and the implementation of information policy. The first phase of the Canadian-Ukrainian project is a prime example of the effectiveness of distance learning, which allows skills upgrading. Our employees also took part in this project. Assoc.
