On the 23rd of December 2024, KPMG Ukraine held an open lecture for students of the Faculty of Management and Marketing on “Methodology of preparation and analysis of financial statements” as part of the course “Accounting”. The lecture was held by Roman Baranenko, Senior Auditor of the Audit Department of KPMG Ukraine, together with Natalia Skorobogatova, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of International Economics.

The topic of the lecture aroused great interest not only among the third-year students (groups US-21, UE-21, UE-22, UA-21, UA-22), but also among the junior students, especially group US-41. In the course of the lecture the students learned about the composition and purpose of financial statements, their main elements and methods of preparation, the application of accounting principles in the preparation of financial statements, as well as the interpretation of financial statement data for the analysis of the company’s activities and the development of further management decisions. The students were particularly interested in the practical aspects of the possibility of using the forms of financial statements by the company’s management, which were clearly presented by Roman Baranenko.
